This is the home of the world renowned Wizards by Jamie Lauritzen. A
self taught sculptor and daughter of world famous landscape artist
Keith C. Smith, Jamie has been nurturing her passion for art since
childhood. She grew up in North Vancouver with her parents Keith and
Arlene Smith, and her two brothers. She later met her partner for life
Rudi Lauritzen, and they moved to Gibson's BC to start a family. They
eventually found their way to Skookumchuck BC, where her father was
working as a park naturalist. They fell in love with the area and
decided to raise their two boys on a small ranch.
Jamie initially gained great success with sculpting dough dolls and
fairies, but her imagination and creativity quickly branched off into
Wizards. Their success was so overwhelming that she has spent the last
20 years creating these mystical men for their adoring fans. She now
lives in Riondel BC, overlooking the breathtaking Kootenay Lake, with
her husband Rudi. If you would like to
know more about Jamie and her art, please feel free to contact
us, or peruse this web site.

interpretation of the Spirit of Christmas. He stands over 2 feet tall
and is sitting on a piece of driftwood adorned with moss, quartz
crystals, and is entirely hand crafted. Jamie Lauritzen sculpts every
detail of their face, hands, and feet, then fires them in an oven to
set. Every Wizard is completely unique and no two are alike. Throughout
this web page you will be introduced into the World of Wizards, and
other magical creations by Jamie Lauritzen. Please feel free to contact
the artist should you have any questions or would like to enquire as to
how you can have a Wizard of your own. |
