Jamie Lauritzen has been making wizards for over 20 years now. It all started in Skookumchuck BC, when she decided to try her
talents at sculpting on something new. She had been enjoying great success
at creating other types of crafts but wanted to try something more
challenging and imaginative.
When she first started creating Wizards she had no idea
at the success that would follow. 20 years later she is still busy as ever
creating these little magical beings. The demand for them has grown
with every year. You can find Wizards all over the world now. She also
enjoys Oil Painting, Silk Painting, and running "The Purple Door" with her husband
Rudi and their faithful dog
Rueger.

She still finds time every day to sit down and create
these little Men of Magic. She sculpts every hand, head, and foot out of
Polymer Clay and then fires it in the oven to harden it. She then clothes
them in leather, Chamois, fur, beads, jewelry, precious stones, pipes,
feathers, crystals, and so much more. They usually sell from between $150CA to
$200CA for the little Apprentices which stand about 8 inches tall, and between $300CA and
$600CA for the medium size Wizards which stand about 12 to 18 inches tall. The
large Wizards ( 3 feet or more in height) are custom ordered and range in
price from $2000 and up.
When she is not busy creating Wizards she also enjoys
the beautiful West Kootenays and visiting her two sons, and her Grand
children. If you have enjoyed seeing these Wizards then please feel free
to contact us or come by and see us if you are ever in the neighborhood.
We look forward to hearing from you. |
